A packet helps collect and share documents. Prequalification is the GC’s broader decision about risk, capability, and fit.
A packet can make common evidence easier to find: company details, W-9, insurance certificate, licenses, workers’ comp proof, safety program, OSHA records when applicable, references, and project-specific files.
A full prequalification process may include financial statements, bonding capacity, EMR and loss runs, safety metrics, experience by project type, current backlog, references, litigation history, and a signed questionnaire. Larger or public work can add more requirements.
Calling a file “current” does not mean a GC has approved it. Calling a packet “complete” does not mean it satisfies a contract. SubPacket uses “recommended” and “status” language so the app helps with organization without pretending to make the GC’s decision.
